Iwo Princes Warns Olupo, Write Osun Government
The letter to the government reads ” It has come to the notice of the forum of Iwo princes that anytime this week, His Royal Highness, Oba Oyebamiji Oyefeso, the Olupo of Oluponna in Ayedire Local Government of the State of Osun will be elevating and installing 3 Baales to the position of part II Obas. The position of the forum is not against the plan, but what this forum will not tolerate is the crowning of these Baales by any other person than the Oluwo of Iwoland”
“Traditionally, morally and legally, the crowns in Iwoland belongs to Oluwo and the sole commander of consenting authority in Iwoland.
Hence, Oluwo of Iwoland is therefore the accredited paramount ruler who should perform the crowning or give instruction but was never consulted. Iwoland is the vast expanse of land which consists of all the lands in Iwo, Ayedire and Ola Oluwa Local Governments and all the chiefs and part II Obas are under the jurisdiction of the Oluwo of Iwoland, a first class paramount ruler in Osun State and only one with consenting authority in Iwoland”
“Furthermore, the forum of Iwo princes wishes to inform His Excellency that it remains in the dark as regards the source of the prescribed authority document purportedly confer on Olupo , the power to install chiefs and part II Obas in Iwoland without recourse to the authority of the Oluwo of Iwoland who hosted him and has the exclusive right to the prescribed authority document”
“The forum of Iwo princes will therefore be pleased and honoured if the state government could use its good office to ascertain the genuineness or otherwise of the prescribed authority document in possession of Oluponna as claimed”
“Also, that the state government should call Olupo to order and stop the proposed installation to give credit to the paramount authority in the land”
